He trained first at the Cercle Artístic de Terrassa (Terrassa Artistic Circle) before attending La Llotja, the Barcelona School of Fine Arts. He assimilated a variety of influences, including that of the Vayreda brothers, but also got to know the Pre-Raphaelite painters, which led to his painting evolving towards Symbolism, though still within the landscape genre (Febrer [February], 1891; MNAC collection). On the advice of A. Riquer, a great friend of his, he went into the field of decoration in which he practised a Modernista style.
He may be regarded as a local painter, but he also held exhibitions outside Terrassa, including ones at Sala Parés (Petritxol, 5) and the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc (Artistic Circle of Saint Luke), of which he was a member.
He produced a lot of landscapes for the art dealer Robira.
