Joaquim Bassegoda i Amigó
La Bisbal d´Empordà (1854) - Barcelona (1938)
Brother of the architect Bonaventura Bassegoda and nephew of the constructor Pere Bassegoda, he worked with both of them on several buildings.
He graduated from the Barcelona School of Architecture as a qualified architect in 1878 and a few years later, after working as an assistant lecturer at the same school, he obtained the post of professor of construction. In 1905 he obtained the same chair at the Madrid School of Architecture, where he taught until he retired in 1924. During the same period he was simultaneously director of the Barcelona School of Architecture. He worked with his brother Bonaventura on the Cases Antoni Rocamora (1917; Passeig de Gràcia 6, 8-10 and 12-14).
He also published several books on construction.
