José Pérez Terraza

Master builder
Mérida (1852) - Barcelona (1906)

He qualified as a master builder in 1872. There are several works by him in Barcelona, such as Casa Caralt (1899; Bailèn, 125) and Casa Antoni Massana (1900; Bailèn, 122).
His best work is probably Torre Ignacio Portabella (1905; Avinguda del Tibidabo, 27 - Teodor Roviralta, 4). This building is constructed in a Historicist style. Nevertheless, the decoration on the façade, with floral appliqués, displays a certain pattern more akin to Modernista language.
