Víctor Masriera i Vila
Barcelona (1875) - Castellar del Vallès (1938)
The son of Frederic Masriera (see Casa Masriera i Campins), he started work in his father's workshop as a designer and furthered his training at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. On returning to Barcelona, he became artistic director of the family business. He himself did the decoration of the firm's shop. In 1906 he went to Buenos Aires, where he lived for several years working as a drawing teacher before going to France and Belgium with a grant to study drawing.
In addition to metalwork, he also worked as an interior decorator designing furniture, mosaics and wrought iron items, using techniques such as pyrography with appliqués of metal and other materials, which means that he can be regarded as an industrial designer.
