Inauguration of the “Any Conxita Badia” (Year of Conxita Badia), to whom the next Barcelona Modernist Fair 2025 will be dedicated
On May 23, 24 and 25, 2025, the Municipal Institute of Urban Landscape, the Eixample District and the Coreixample merchants’ association, are organizing the 19th Barcelona Modernist Fair and Trade Fair, on Bruc Street between Avinguda Diagonal and Consell de Cent Street.
This year’s Fair will be dedicated to Conxita Badia i Millàs (Barcelona 1897 – 1975), one of the most outstanding sopranos of the 20th century, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of her death, and to Maria Lluïsa Ponsa i Bassas (Barcelona 1875 – 1919), composer, pianist and writer, in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of her birth.
Yesterday, the curator of the “Any Conxita Badia”, Mireia Domènech i Bonet, Conxita’s great-granddaughter, presented the “Any Conxita Badia” at a press conference at the Palau Marc, which will run until May 2026. The Barcelona Modernist Fair will be one of the many activities that will be organized dedicated to her life and work, as well as an academic symposium in November.
