El Rovell de l’Ou

Group of painters

This group of painters took its name (literally, the Egg Yolk) from the name of the bar (in Carrer Hospital; no longer in existence) where some young painters attending the private academy of Pere Borrell del Caso used to meet. Its members included P. Ysern, M. Pidelaserra, Ramon and Juli Borrell, and Xavier Nogués. As a complement to the group they created a magazine called Il Tiberio. Since it was hand-written, only one copy of each issue was produced and it was used mainly to keep P. Ysern, who was in Paris, informed.
