Joan Vilella

Stained glass industrialist

This stained glass window maker became the manager of a factory that achieved recognition in Europe, as shown by the fact that it was called in to make the roofs of the Metro stations in Paris.
In Barcelona it made the skylights for the Hivernacle (Greenhouse, 1883-1887; Parc de la Ciutadella) and the canopy for the Torino café (1902; Passeig de Gràcia, 18; no longer in existence).
