A multi-faceted person who was highly active in this period, he contributed to most of the magazines of the time, such as Pèl i Ploma, Joventut and La Publicitat, and was a regular participant in the literary discussions at Els Quatre Gats (Montsió, 3 bis). In his articles as a critic he supported the work of S. Rusiñol and R. Casas and of the painters belonging to the second generation of Modernisme. He also helped to disseminate knowledge of the work of Gauguin, Whistler and Zuloaga in Catalonia.
He also displayed a great interest in music - he wrote the libretto for some light operas - and wrote plays.
