He studied at the Barcelona School of Architecture where he qualified as an architect in 1889. His education was heavily influenced by the work of A. Font i Carreras, with whom he trained and worked in Tarragona.
In 1889 he went to live in Teruel until 1912, except for a period of three years, from 1905 to 1908, when he lived in Tortosa. In this latter town he left behind some work in a Modernista style strongly influenced by the architect L. Domènech i Montaner, although he worked mostly as a municipal architect producing buildings in a much purer style.
In Teruel, where he was also the municipal architect, his work became the representative of the Modernista idiom, as can be seen, for example, in the block of flats known as Casa El Torico (1912; Plaza de Carlos Castel, 14), which displays a considerable Belgian influence; Casa La Madrileña (1912; Plaza de Carlos Castel, 7), and Casa Ferran (1910; Nueva, 4), which stands out for its rich wrought iron ornamentation.
