He studied at the Barcelona School of Architecture, where he was a fellow student of A. Gaudí, and graduated from there as a qualified architect in 1879.
He was municipal architect of Berga and also worked in Terrassa, Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and Vilanova i la Geltrú, where you can see his use of Modernista language in works such as the Town Hall (1896-1900; Plaça de la Vila, 1, Sant Sadurní d'Anoia) and Casa Gener (1902; Rambla Principal, 104, Vilanova i la Geltrú).
He also worked for Barcelona City Council as head of the valuations department and prepared several urban development projects, such as the General Urbanisation Plans for the Les Corts-Sarrià and Sant Martí de Provençals districts (1909 and 1920). He also took part in the work of renovating the former Hostafrancs Deputy Mayor's building (1895; 1908-1915; Creu Coberta, 106; currently the Sants-Montjuïc district offices of Barcelona City Council), a building that had been designed by J. Gustà in 1895, in which he used Modernista elements, although this should be understood within the scope of eclecticism. Some of the photographs of buildings in Barcelona which he took are part of the collection of the Centre de la Imatge i la Tecnologia Multimèdia (Image and Multimedia Technology Centre, Campus de la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Igualtat, 33, Terrassa).
