An 1898 Modernista bakery with delightful marquetry doors and a coat of arms above the door depicting an allegory of the wheat harvest.
This bakery was decorated in around 1898, and is striking because of the overall impression created by the wooden frames, which house the sign with curving lines and oval shapes that extend to the façade of the building. On the wall between the two entrance doors there is a shield showing a woman reaping. The sign is now printed, but could originally have been of leaded glass.
Actions on Modernista Heritage City Council Programme Barcelona, posa’t guapa (Barcelona, get pretty)
Restoration of stuccoes and cornices on the façades.

This Route enables you to get to know thoroughly impressive palatial residences, amazing houses, the temple that has become a symbol of the city and a huge hospital, but it also includes humbler and more everyday buildings and items such as chemists’, shops, lampposts and benches - modernist works which show that Art Nouveau put down strong roots in Barcelona and today Modernisme is still an art that is alive and part of life in the city.
